Come paddle the Snake River in Twin Falls, Idaho. This slow moving stretch of the river flows through the Snake River Canyon. During your excursion you will paddle 486′ below the Perrine Bridge, where base jumpers from around the world come to test their bravery. Two miles up river is the picturesque Pillar Falls, a great place to visit with the whole family. For the adventure seekers wanting an all day experience, you can continue on to Shoshone Falls. Labelled the “Niagara of the West,” these magnificent Falls plunge 212′ into the calm river below.
Not interested in kayaking? Don’t worry! Book a pontoon ride! The boat ride will take you under the Perrine Bridge, and up to Pillar Falls where you can get out and explore the incredible area. The pontoon ride will show you parts of the river that cannot be hiked, where you will be surrounded by cliff faces. The captain will explain the geology of the canyon as well as history of the area!
Lastly, if you would like to kayak all the way to Shoshone Falls, but 8 miles round trip sounds like too much, AWOL has you covered. They will take you on the pontoon and drop you off at Pillar Falls. Here, guides will meet at the shore and take you to your kayaks on the other side of the boulder area. Then the kayak trip is 2 miles to Shoshone Falls! The sit on top kayaks are safe and the guides will be monitoring the flow and be sure to keep you safe.
