Thorn Creek Reservoir provides excellent fishing through mid-summer

The most common fish found in the reservoir is trout. Idaho Fish and Game occasionally stock the area to keep fishermen coming back. Bank fishing and non-motorized watercraft are common. The reservoir fills with snow melt during the spring and water levels lower in the summer. For those bringing watercraft, there is an unimproved boat ramp at the north side of the dam.

Primitive camping and restrooms are available on the edges of the reservoir for overnight visitors. The area’s Great Basin vegetation includes sagebrush and grasslands. It is a beautiful desert area with rolling hills. In the spring and fall, waterfowl and shorebirds seek refuge at the reservoir.
