It is a 3.5 mile hike to see each of the Independence Lakes. The trail starts in a small, unimproved campground and is an in-and-out, non-motorized trail. Visitors can take the full 7 mile hike or summit nearby Cache Peak for a birds eye view of all three lakes.
Each lake offers great site seeing, fishing, swimming or paddling opportunities.
