The Hagerman State Hatchery covers 35 acres and producing 4 million rainbow trout annually.
At full capacity the facility holds 120 cfs of water where they raise Rainbow Trout and Coho Salmon. During feeding time, the raceways churn into a frenzy of silvery mass. Visitors are welcome in the hatchery area seven days a week from sunrise to sunset. Large group tours are available with advance notice. A show pond has large rainbow trout, golden rainbows, sturgeon, and tiger muskies.
The hatchery is located in the middle of a waterfowl management area and also provides fish for bird and wildlife observation.
