The Malad River Canyon is 250 feet deep and 2.5 miles long. At Malad Gorge State Park, located right off Interstate 84, you can view the canyon and walk along the rim. The highway crosses over Malad Gorge, but the angle of view hides the deep gorge where the river cascades into Devil's Washbowl.
Minidoka National Wildlife Refuge extends upstream for 25 miles along the Snake River from Minidoka Dam and includes all of Lake Walcott. About 2/3 of the reservoir is wildlife sanctuary, attracting thousands of breeding and molting waterfowl and other waterbirds.
This spectacular bridge spans the majestic Snake River Canyon on the northern edge of Twin Falls. The Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho is 1,500 feet long and 486 feet above the Snake River. The four-lane bridge has pedestrian walkways with views of the river, sheer cliffs, the Blue Lakes, waterfalls, a park and two golf courses.
Cross-country skiing at Pomerelle on nearby trails - including Connor Flat and Mt. Harrison. Pick up maps at the Pomerelle ticket office. Skiers need to check in there before and after skiing. The area is not patrolled and weather can change quickly.
The Cassia County Museum holds items found during the past century. The museum was established in 1972. Indian artifacts, fossils, farm tools, period clothing, household items and two train cars are featured at the museum.
Established in 1988 as a national reserve, City of Rocks in Idaho encompasses 14,407 acres of land. As of November 30, 2022 the National Park Service has acquired an additional 105 acres of land along the northeastern boundary of the reserve.
South of Buhl near the Salmon Falls Creek Canyon stands the famous Balanced Rock. Over 48 feet tall and 40 tons, the wind-carved Balanced Rock balances precariously on a pedestal only 3 feet by 17 inches.
Caldron Linn Canyon is an off grid area that requires a hike down a steep canyon to see the waterfall below. Leave no trace as you hike here, there are no restrooms or garbages. Located near Murtaugh, Idaho.
