If you have visited the Magic Valley, you know that it lives up to its name. No matter the season, Southern Idaho offers magical experiences for all ages. This is part of the reason that livability in Southern Idaho is so highly ranked!

Experiences

Idaho always has memorable experiences at the ready! Spring and summer feature some wonderful waterfalls, beautiful hikes in national and state parks, and wild river adventures. Fall and winter give breathtaking photo ops and snowy thrills. You can find more about the experiences available during your favorite season in this free travel guide.

A favorite activity by locals is visiting the Snake River Canyon in Twin Falls. The 50-mile canyon is probably best known as the jumping place of daredevil Evel Kneivel in 1974, but has grown in notoriety since then. The Perrine Bridge now stands on the canyon rim as a local landmark. It is the only place in the world where BASE jumpers can gather year-round to experience the thrill of a lifetime.

Those who aren’t fans of participating in extreme sports have plenty of places to spectate as death-defying divers leap from the bridge. Arguably, the best seat in the house is on the water below! In a kayak or paddleboard on the Snake River, you’re able to watch BASE jumpers glide overhead as they descend.

Daily Living

In addition, Southern Idaho provides a small-town, traditional feel. It’s a little haven tucked away from the hustle and bustle. This makes it an ideal location for those who prefer a quieter lifestyle or families with children.

The low cost of living and easy access to shopping, healthcare, and education, make the livability of Southern Idaho hard to beat. There are so many reasons people love living in the area!
