ski-swap

It’s time to gear up for the 2016-17 ski/snowboard season, and the College of Southern Idaho is Johnny-on-the-spot, hosting the 47th annual Ski Swap this weekend, Nov. 18-19, so all of you Southern Idaho skiers and riders can find the best deals around on new and used equipment.

Representatives from Pomerelle and Magic Mountain will be on hand to sell season passes, and Claude’s Sports and Idaho Water Sports will be offering great deals on new equipment.

The swap will be held in the CSI Recreation Center gym, beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday. Early bird customers from 3-6 p.m. will get a 10 percent discount on all merchandise. Entry fee is $5 for early birds, and $2 from 6-10 p.m. on Friday. The swap continues from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the same price.

Magic Mountain is offering discounted season passes during the two-day ski swap: $249 for adults; $219 for youths 13-17; and $99 for kids 7-12. A day pass at Magic costs $31 for adults.

It’s always a good idea to buy a season pass so you can ski or ride as many days on the mountain without worrying about the cost. Once you’ve skied 5-6 times, you’ve paid off the season pass, and the rest of the season is free!

Season pass rates at Soldier Mountain run $399 for adults, $299 for juniors, $129 for youths 7-11, $299 for military and $299 for midweek. A day pass at Soldier costs $40 for adults.

To buy a season pass at Pomerelle, it costs $450 for adults, $275 for youths and extra family members get a discounted price after the first pass is bought at full price. A day pass at Pomerelle costs $45 for adults. See more at Pomerelle.com.

Hope you find a great deal at the ski swap. New equipment – even if it is used – always gets you fired up to go skiing or snowboarding and try it out on the slopes!

See you on the snow!
