“It’s starting to get warm, and people are coming out in good numbers,” says Cory Nennelley, who works in the pro shop at Canyon Springs Golf Course in Twin Falls.

“We’ve had a couple of tournaments already, and we’ve got some guys that’ll play 9 holes in a day, and others that’ll play 36 holes in a day,” says Danielle from Gooding Country Club.

Southern Idaho has a great variety of golf courses, and some scenic jewels with golf holes next to the Snake River, like Canyon Springs, River’s Edge Golf Club in Burley, and Clear Lake Country Club in Buhl, and some long courses like 93 Golf Ranch.

Golfers can spice up their life by buying a Southern Idaho Golf Passport for $40, which allows people to buy one greens fee and get a second round for free at 14 different courses in Southern Idaho Monday-Friday and on Sundays. In other words, you buy a round of golf, and your partner plays for free. The passport allows you to buy one greens fee on a Saturday, and get one-half off the second round.

The passport has a $350 value. It’s proven to be so popular that the promotion expanded from nine courses in 2016 to 14 courses this year. “The interest has grown immensely this year,” says Julianna of Moxee Marketing. “A couple of courses already have sold out of their first batch of passes. It seems that sales are up at least 50 percent.”

The idea is to encourage local and visiting golfers to try different courses for the sake of variety, diversity and fun! Plus it makes your round of golf more affordable than ever!

The following Southern Idaho courses that are participating in the Passport program this year include:
