This club’s accessible location has made it a hotspot for travelers. It’s also incredibly scenic: The first three holes and the 10th hole are located on the edge of a wide spot in the Snake River. A boat ramp is available for golfers who want to take a break on the river after hitting the links.

Location: Buhl
Clear Lake Country Club offers three main features; location, location, location. The course is located right on the Snake River on the north side of the canyon. That means sun year round. Visitors are often surprised by the quality of the greens — courtesy of an unlimited supply of fresh water — and the difficulty of the short course.

Location: Jerome
At more than 7,000 yards, the 93 Golf Ranch is the longest 18-hole golf course in Southern Idaho. Play can begin as early as March and last through December — all the more time to tackle the 8th hole, also known as “the pit of despair”: a pit to the right, a sand trap to the back, and out-of-bounds to the left.

Nestled in the spectacular Snake River Canyon, Canyon Springs Golf Course was originally part of the estate of I.B. Perrine (the famous bridge that spans the canyon and overlooks the course bears his name). “It’s pretty hard to find courses in canyons with 500-feet walls,” General Manager Brandon Otte points out.

Location: Jerome
The Jerome Country Club is among the oldest in Southern Idaho. Founded in 1926, this club’s greens were originally “mowed” by grazing sheep. The course is definitely more modern now, and its 400 members appreciate the semi-private club’s easy access. The course’s four sets of tees offer challenges for anyone, from beginners through pros.

Location: Gooding
Gooding may have fewer than 4,000 people, but its residents have been big supporters of the local municipal club since it opened back in 1948. And for good reason: The club earns rave reviews for its incredibly friendly staff and affordable prices. This rye grass course is known for its fast greens.

Location: Kimberly
This course is known for its signature seventh hole, which forces players to shoot down into the Snake River Canyon. Pleasant Valley has par 3, 4, and 5 holes that are open to all ages and that attract players of all abilities to this member-owned course.

Location: Filer
Pebble Ponds is pure pleasure. It’s the only executive par 3 course the Magic Valley and caters to golfers of all levels. In fact, you don’t even need a tee time before you arrive. A driving range is available on site, too.

Location: Burley
Burley’s Ponderosa Golf Course is all about family. The course is run by General Manager Dan Simpson, whose father, Earl, is a retired PGA pro who still teaches lessons. The par-3, 9-hole course is easy to find, unintimidating and quick to play: It typically takes about an hour to finish, and no tee times are required.

Location: Twin Falls
This par-68 public course — still referred to by some longtime residents as “The Muni” — boasts amazing playing conditions for players of all skill levels. The club also features a driving range, putting green, chipping green, and a snack bar. Players say they love the way staff “treats me like family” and that the pros keep them coming back again and again.
