Fall is welcomed with fun events in the Magic Valley! Specifically, September 19th-21st in Shoshone, Idaho.
2019 Lost N Lava
Bring the family out to discover the history of our lands! It is a great event for kids to learn about Idaho’s heritage, and adults to discover their ancestor’s stories. Shoshone, Idaho is located about 40 minutes north of Twin Falls. Shoshone is a beautiful historic town which makes it perfect for the Lost N Lava event.
The Lost N Lava Cowboy Gathering is a celebration of ranching and rural west. Much of Southern Idaho’s heritage starts with living off the land, fun folk music, and other Wild West practices. Held in Shoshone, Idaho, Lost N Lava will help participants connect with the ‘good old days,’ and rediscover history. This includes poetry, music, and stories! They will be taught and told by local ranchers to express the beauty of a life connected to the earth. Although there is beauty in its plentiful bounty, there are also challenges that come with it. Every year, hundreds of travelers come to the gathering.
Activities
At Lost N Lava Cowboy Gathering you can discover cowboy cultures from around the world! Southern Idaho Muzzle Loaders will be attending, and have fun games for the kids. Off Grid Survival Pro will also be there to give helpful tips to those who may be wanting to try living off the land! Learn traditional skills that the land dwellers used to use daily for survival. The event will be sure to inspire many. Along with fun skill learning, there will be music throughout the event. Open mic sessions and performers from all around will serenade the crowd, and make everyone feel as if they were gathered around a campfire after a long day of hard work on the ranch.
There is also an option to go horseback riding! There are trails for those that wish to just ride for 15 mins, 1/2 a day, or a full day ride. The Lost N Lava Trail Ride will travel the area of West Magic with qualified trail guides. It isn’t very often that trail rides are offered in the area, so we highly suggest jumping onto this opportunity! The views will not disappoint, and can you think of a better day than riding a horse into the sunset with a bunch of cowboys?
2019 Excitment

Lost N Lava has entertainers preforming that are a regular to the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering held in Elko, Nevada.” He also is excited because, “We have so much talent coming to Shoshone!” This year will be a wonderful time.
In-between the events make a stop at Shoshone Snack Bar! Ice cream has never tasted so good at this restaurant! They also have delicious food. The closest town to stay at is Jerome, Idaho, about 20 minutes south of Shoshone. Jerome has many accommodations and restaurants. Jerome KOA has cabins for rent as well as RV space and camping sites.
