Southern Idaho Eclipse Adventure

Only one in 10,000 people see a full solar eclipse during their lifetimes. On Aug. 21, you could be among the fortunate few! Experience Mother Nature’s spectacular show first hand by signing up for the Southern Idaho Eclipse Adventure, hosted by Southern Idaho Tourism.

Our adventure begins at 6 a.m. Aug. 21 at the Twin Falls Visitor Center, where you’ll board a bus to rural Mackay. We worked with the Faulkner Planetarium in Twin Falls to choose this area, which is directly in the path of the eclipse and far from atmospheric interference and light pollution that could interrupt your view. We’ll have an astronomer on hand to guide you through this once-in-a-lifetime celestial event and answer your questions.

The Southern Idaho Eclipse Adventure includes:

  • An astronomer-led tour of the solar eclipse
  • Transportation to and from the viewing area in Mackay or backup location
  • Catered lunch by Twin Falls Sandwich Company
  • Special protective eye glasses
