Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary at the Snake River Canyon

Join community members, visitors, and partners from across Southern Idaho for Sharing the Spirit of America, a special Freedom 250 event commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

On July 8, communities across all 50 states will participate in a simultaneous public reading of the Declaration of Independence. Southern Idaho’s event will take place along the breathtaking north rim of the Snake River Canyon near Twin Falls, bringing together residents and visitors to reflect on the nation’s history while enjoying one of Idaho’s most spectacular landscapes.

The gathering will be held at the site of a future scenic overlook overlooking the Snake River Canyon. The location represents an ongoing partnership between the Bureau of Land Management, Jerome County, and the Snake River Canyons Park Board to expand public access and create new opportunities for visitors to experience this iconic canyon environment.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, outdoor adventurer, local resident, or visitor exploring Southern Idaho, this event offers a unique opportunity to be part of a nationwide celebration while experiencing one of the region’s most remarkable natural settings.
