Burley Celebrates America
Celebrate Independence Day in Southern Idaho at Burley’s annual “Burley Celebrates America” event at Rivers Edge Park. The festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. and feature food trucks, family games, live music, and a spectacular fireworks show to cap off the evening. Country artist Heath Owens takes the stage at 7:00 p.m., providing the soundtrack for one of the Magic Valley’s favorite Fourth of July celebrations. Bring your lawn chairs, gather your family and friends, and enjoy an evening of patriotic fun along the Snake River.

Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary at the Snake River Canyon
Join community members, visitors, and partners from across Southern Idaho for Sharing the Spirit of America, a special Freedom 250 event commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
On July 8, communities across all 50 states will participate in a simultaneous public reading of the Declaration of Independence. Southern Idaho’s event will take place along the breathtaking north rim of the Snake River Canyon near Twin Falls, bringing together residents and visitors to reflect on the nation’s history while enjoying one of Idaho’s most spectacular landscapes.
The gathering will be held at the site of a future scenic overlook overlooking the Snake River Canyon. The location represents an ongoing partnership between the Bureau of Land Management, Jerome County, and the Snake River Canyons Park Board to expand public access and create new opportunities for visitors to experience this iconic canyon environment.
Whether you’re a history enthusiast, outdoor adventurer, local resident, or visitor exploring Southern Idaho, this event offers a unique opportunity to be part of a nationwide celebration while experiencing one of the region’s most remarkable natural settings.

Plant Sale: Drought tolerant, Idaho native plants; cacti, flowers, shrubs, succulents. Helpful staff to answer questions about high desert (xeriscaping), water conservative gardening, soil amendments.

The Orton Botanical Garden educates people of all ages and backgrounds about cold hardy cacti and other succulents, native Idaho and drought tolerant plants, environmental health, and resource conservation. The Garden also demonstrates how plants can support and protect pollinators and other wildlife while adding beauty to the landscape. Orton Botanical Garden is 5-acres with gravel walking paths, open to the public, donations recommended.

Make-A-Wish® Idaho
Join the Twin Falls community for Walk For Wishes, a family-friendly fundraising walk benefiting Make-A-Wish® Idaho. The event will feature a Kid Zone, food vendors, and more for all ages to enjoy. Registration begins at 9:30am | Walk begins at 10:30am. Walk alongside friends, families, and supporters to help grant life-changing wishes for Idaho children facing critical illnesses—every step makes a difference.

Live History Day coming up: June 20, 2026. Gates open at 9 am. Adults $5.00 cash preferred. Anyone under age of 12 is free. Flag raising at 10. Antique tractor parade right after. Tractors pulling heavy loads 10:30 to 2 pm. Music by Fiddlers Inc from 11 to 12. Fruit pie auction 2 pm. Watch sheep shearing. Churn butter from fresh dairy cow cream. Pet the College of Southern Idaho reptiles. Visit with Civil War volunteers. All buildings will be open. Food vendees all day. Lots more activities.
