Shoshone Falls are spectacular every spring, when winter’s snows melt and feed the Snake River. It’s been a record year for snow in Southern Idaho, and this spring is shaping up to be downright jaw-dropping: Right now, the falls are flowing at 7,000 cubic feet per second and are expected hit 12,000 cfs in late March and early April.
You won’t want to miss this spectacular sight — seeing it in a photo is one thing, but standing next to its awesome power, hearing its roar, and feeling its mist on your face is quite another.

Choose the right time. Peak season is usually between April and July, before the water from the Snake is diverted for agricultural use. This year, the falls are ahead of schedule, but don’t put off your trip! The best viewing for this spectacular natural wonder will be over before you know it.
Don’t forget your cash! You can access Shoshone Falls through Shoshone Falls Park. Admission to the park is $3 per car from March 30 through September.
