Craters of the Moon is part of of the legacy of space exploration In 1969, NASA astronauts Alan Shepherd, Edgar Mitchell, Eugene Cernan, and Joe Engle explored Craters of the Moon while training to visit the moon. Their first steps before landing on the moon were on the moon-like landscape of Craters of the Moon.
